A sacred space for the dying
The Golden Path Palliative Care programme trains healthcare staff to assist the dying, their families and their friends. It also helps support staff members who work in this area to implement simple self-care techniques.

Our Palliative Care training is based on a specifically designed guided relaxation story called The Golden Path. Training also covers the use of aromatherapy oils traditionally used with the dying and the setting up of a tranquil room space.
Level 1 or Practitioner Certification in Activity Therapy for Dementia Care is required to attend this further specialised training. There will be support, feedback and assessment work to be complete to complete Certification and certification updates are required every 2 years.

Enhancing end-of-life care with compassion and awareness
A current Level 1 or Practitioner Level Certificate in ImaginationGYM Activity Therapy for Dementia Care is required to attend this course.
The training is held on-line with small groups and is one full days training.
There is two months of practice in the workplace after the training day and feedback from the sessions is required for the assessment to get the Certification.
Yes the training covers when to use and not use the essential oils and also the safety data compliance pages that are left in the file.
Yes the sessions can be integrated in with family support guidelines.
Yes the training gives very simple techniques to make the room space calm and relaxing. This can be done in a designated Palliative Care room or in the resident’s own room.
Yes the philosophy and methodology is sensitive to all religious/non-religious belief systems and can be use with all residents if they like it.
The Certification is valid for two years and then there is a half day on-line session to stay updated and registered.
